The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division is offering boating basics and license courses through December.
The annual in-person classes allow participants to undergo hands-on training and interaction with ALEA troopers.
Citizens can learn about specific bodies of water and how to safely operate vessels, with over one million boaters visiting Alabama each year.
Upon completion, participants receive a certificate to add the vessel class to their Alabama driver’s license.
A one-time application fee of $5 cash will be charged. There will be a $36.25 issuance fee for the license.
