A Stamford man was killed Saturday morning when police say his car drove into the Connecticut River in Middletown.
According to a spokesperson from the Middletown Police Department, the body of Gautam Ramesh Mirchandani, 51, was pulled from the vehicle by dive teams from both the police and fire departments. The police department offered their condolences to Mirchandani's family.
The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the area off Harbor Drive.
The Middletown Police Department's Major Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation and is asking anyone with information to call Detective D. Semper at 860-638-4143.
