A man was shot by police after a vehicle chase through Phoenix neighborhoods, according to officials.

At about 6:43 p.m. on Oct. 10, officers received a report of a stolen vehicle near Fourth Avenue and Osborn Road.

As police arrived, they heard unrelated gunfire nearby, Sgt. Brian Bower said. A nearby woman flagged down officers and pointed them toward the direction of the gunfire, Bower added.
