A 2-year-old girl missing for more than four hours in wooded terrain in Dorchester was found safe Friday evening by a canine search team, authorities said.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and State Police received a report at 4:07 p.m. that the child had been missing for over 45 minutes in Dorchester. Emergency responders launched a large-scale search as temperatures dropped, they said.
Conservation officers, state troopers and multiple fire departments responded, along with the Upper Valley Search and Rescue Team, PEMI Valley Search and Rescue Team and New England K9. Searchers deployed drones, dogs and a State Police helicopter to comb wooded areas and a large swamp near where the child was last seen.
