BRAINERD — Some students at Brainerd High School say vaping is a major problem that needs to be addressed. Administrators say they have a plan to do just that.
The topic came up during a School Board work session on Wednesday, Oct. 8, during which student School Board Committee representatives weighed in on the discussion.
Kari Ross, executive director of schools, told the board vaping is now recognized in the district as a major behavioral issue due to its prevalence.
“Our secondary principals will tell you they spend a great deal of their day monitoring bathrooms and talking to students about vaping or tobacco or chemical use,” Ross said.
