NORTH RIDGEVILLE – There’s several clichéd sayings, such as a “penny saved is a penny earned.” Or, perhaps something more simple like every little bit helps. And while government entities aren’t always known for their thriftiness, North Ridgeville Public Works director Jon Montgomery just may be the Scrooge of city administrators.

And for taxpayers, that should be a good thing, as Montgomery and his team pride themselves on taking proactive steps of squeezing blood from turnips. Most recently, several of the road projects completed or nearing completion throughout North Ridgeville were handled by the in house staff with public works.
