Ken Hinkley may not be coaching Port Adelaide anymore, but he’s still acting as a mentor in elite Australian sport.

The 59-year-old, who finished his 13-year tenure as Power coach earlier this year, has been sought out by the NBL’s Adelaide 36ers to offer some of his insights.

Hinkley and 36ers coach Mike Wells have become friends over the past year.

“He’s just a tremendous resource for me. I got to know him a little bit last year,” said American Wells, who was involved in the NBA system as an assistant coach from 1995 to 2024 across several different teams.
