Legolas is a pretty bad-ass character. The princeling of Mirkwood owns on the battlefield. He walks on snow. He holds back his comrades when they're angry and shows remarkable wisdom for his unknown but venerable age. Despite that Elvish agelessness, though, the character was played in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" film adaptations by the very mortal actor Orlando Bloom — who was in his early twenties at the time.
Speaking at a career retrospective at the 2025 Fan Expo Chicago (via Entertainment Weekly ), Orlando revealed that, despite his ultimate immortal warrior persona in those movies, he was subject to teasing behind the scenes. As he recalled:
"I was the butt of most of the jokes, 'cause I never got dirty. Legolas never gets blood, never gets dirty. Viggo [Mortensen]
