FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — Dozens of players and supporters came together on Saturday for the inaugural Jackson’s Mafia Pickleball Tournament, held at the Fairport Pickleball Club.
15-year-old Pittsford native Jackson Barr, a student-athlete and lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, was diagnosed earlier this year with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer. After undergoing major surgery and months of treatment, his strength and optimism inspired friends and family to create the Jackson’s Mafia Foundation, which hosted the event.
The tournament featured pickleball matches for all ages, raffles, auctions, food, and a full day of community celebration. Proceeds will support Barr’s ongoing treatment and help other families facing childhood cancer in the future.
