Brodie Kostecki has sparked controversy by claiming his dominant Ford is "two kilometres slower" than the Camaros, prompting a team protest that was quickly dismissed.
After smashing the Gen3 qualifying lap record at Mount Panorama during qualifying on Friday, Kostecki followed up his form by soaring to a third consecutive Bathurst 1000 pole position on Saturday, putting the blue oval at the front of the grid.
While he has been the quickest when it matters most, Kostecki has been outspoken about performance parity concerns, calling for immediate changes to be made to the Ford Mustang package before Sunday's race.
