Ty Simpson walked up to the left corner of the “TIGERS” end zone on Faurot Field where a group of reporters had assembled. After he made his way over, he kept reading and flipping through a book of stats.

“Just too many sacks,” Simpson replied. “Didn’t throw the ball great. Not a good average yards per play. Held the ball a lot longer than they did. Not very clean.”
Simpson didn’t mention the fact he had completed 23 of 31 passes (74%) for 200 yards and three touchdowns. He didn’t talked about the Alabama offense going 4-for-4 in the red zone and winning the time-of-possession battle 38:33 to 21:27 against a Missouri team that had led the nation in that stat.
