BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - According to the Alzheimer’s Association’s website, approximately 7.2 million people are living with Alzheimer’s dementia in the United States. This number is expected to nearly double in the next 20 years, which is why the organization hosts the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
People like Allison Fowler, development manager at the Alzheimer’s Association, are in charge of putting this event together, and a little wind wasn’t enough to stop it.
“Feeling that sense of comradery in the community is something that everybody can get behind, and I think that’s why everybody is willing to risk the wind today to join us,” said Fowler.
The goal is to raise $70,000 by the end of this year to go towards research and resources for people with dementia and their caregivers. Fowler
