WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — An MPD incident report shows two people were having an argument on the sidewalk near 6th Street and C Street Southwest. Investigators say one of those people took out a gun from their waistband and shot the other person before taking off north on 6th Street on foot. Police identified the victim as a teenager.
Around 1:30 Friday afternoon, Luis Fajardo says he heard 5 to 7 gunshots.
"We heard the gunshots and the only thing we did was start running," said Fajardo through an interpreter. "Thank God everyone was off the vehicle, but we did see the vehicle was hit by the gunfire.”
Fajardo is a tour guide who was transporting visitors from Spain in a van that had one of its windows shot. He says thankfully nobody was inside the van when gunfire erupted.
