WASHINGTON — One person suffered critical injuries and four other were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash early Saturday morning in Northwest D.C.
Emergency crews reported the incident around 4:22 a.m. on social media.
DC Fire and EMS officials say at least two cars were involved in the crash near the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue, NW and Florida Avenue, NW.
When they arrived at the scene, one vehicle was lying on its side and both vehicles were on fire.
Photos from the scene show both cars sustained heavy damage.
Officials have not indicated what might have prompted the crash, or whether they anyone will be charged with a crime as a result.
None of the victims have been identified by officials.
