FARGO — That first half looked familiar.

For the second straight game, North Dakota State's opponent appeared to dominate the first half with its offense. Yet when the horn sounded to signal halftime, it was the Bison who led on the scoreboard.

Last week it was Illinois State, which ran 42 plays to NDSU's 19 in the first half and led the time of possession 20:28 to 9:32. Despite that, the Bison led 15-9 after two quarters en route to a 33-16 road victory.

Saturday at the Fargodome, it was much the same story in the first half. Southern Illinois ran 42 plays to NDSU's 20 and had a hefty advantage in time of possession at 21:10 to 8:50. And again the Bison had the lead, this time 17-10.
