Hollywood is paying tribute to Diane Keaton .

News of the beloved Oscar winner’s death at the age of 79 was reported on Saturday, and many stars alongside her co-stars — who are friends and fans alike — are honoring her life and career on social media.

“The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me,” Bette Midler , who co-starred with Keaton along with Goldie Hawn in The First Wives Club , wrote in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. “She was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star. What you saw was who she was…oh, la, lala!”
