BUFFALO, N.Y. — A house fire killed one person Saturday night in the City of Buffalo.
The fire began some time past 6 p.m. at a 1½-story frame residence at at 112 Rano St. in Buffalo's Riverside neighborhood. That's where, according to a spokesperson for the Buffalo Fire Department , a fire started in the front of the building.
A firefighter was also injured during the emergency response. They were taken to a hospital to be evaluated for what the fire department considered injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the building an another $75,000 to its contents. It also caused $10,000 in exposure damage to two nearby properties — 98 Rano and 114 Rano.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
