BUFFALO, N.Y. — Thousands of participants came together at Buffalo’s Outer Harbor on Saturday for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event aimed at raising awareness and funds to support families and advance research toward a cure .
The Alzheimer’s Association says all money raised during the walk stays local, helping families in Erie County and the surrounding region. Many attendees walked in honor of loved ones affected by the disease, combining personal tribute with community support.
Nancy Millman, who participated in the walk in honor of her father, described the event’s impact.
"The association was wonderful to us the entire time we were with my dad and trying to navigate everything. To see this amount of people gather together for the same cause is wonderful," she said.
