DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Television Iowa Capitol Bureau) -Hundreds of Republicans gathered in Des Moines today for the 10th annual Roast and Ride.

The day kicked off with a 34-mile motorcycle ride, joined by this year’s special guest, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.

This year’s rally carried a bittersweet note as it marked Senator Joni Ernst’s final time hosting the event she started a decade ago.

“Joni, thanks for being a friend, thanks for dedicating yourself to Iowa, and for everything you’ve done for us. You’ve made us so proud,” said Governor Kim Reynolds.
