Controversy struck Auburn football again late in the first half of Saturday night’s game vs. Georgia.

With Auburn up 10-0 with 1:32 left in the second quarter, Tigers quarterback Jackson Arnold tried to score a touchdown on a quarterback sneak. Georgia linebacker CJ Allen punched the ball out and the Bulldogs’ Kyron Jones recovered the ball at the 2, and the play was ruled a fumble by the on-field officials.

However, replay review may have shown that the football broke the plain of the goal line before Arnold fumbled. ABC rules analyst Matt Austin, a former SEC official, said he thought the play should have been overturned and Arnold given a touchdown.
