A jewelry store at a west-end mall was the scene of a smash-and-grab robbery Saturday evening by what Toronto Police allege were five masked suspects armed with hammers.
Police said in a social media post that they received reports at approximately 7:20 p.m. of a robbery at a store inside a mall in the Dufferin St. and Bloor St. W. area.
According to police, the suspects smashed display cases and stole merchandise. At least two of the suspects were allegedly armed with hammers.
Video shared to social platform X by Toronto lawyer Caryma Sa’d shows damaged display cases at a store inside Dufferin Mall as officers have guns drawn while the crime scene is taped off.
Police said the suspects fled the scene in a dark-coloured vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
