OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Jacob Paul Yugo, 34, of Oak Ridge, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence following an incident that occurred Friday afternoon, according to the Oak Ridge Police Department.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of an assault in the area of East Newkirk Lane in Oak Ridge, according to ORPD.

Officers located a victim suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to a report. The victim was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.

Following an initial investigation, Yugo was identified as a suspect and is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Facility.
