A 17-year-old Dalit student of Class 11 was allegedly gang-raped by five unidentified men in the Banthara area of Lucknow on Saturday, according to police. So far, four accused have been arrested by the police.

The student had left home around 12 pm to visit her elder sister and was travelling on a motorcycle with an acquaintance. The two stopped near a mango orchard close to a petrol pump when five men approached them.

According to a PTI report, Krishnanagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar Pandey said the student’s acquaintance was beaten up by the group and fled. The five men then allegedly raped the student.
