EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oil Kings built a 4-0 lead halfway through the game and then hung on to beat the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors 4-1 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday.

Poul Anderson, Miroslav Holinka, Cage Smith and Andrew O'Neill scored for the Oil Kings (6-2-0-0), who led 1-0 after the first period and 4-1 heading into the third at Rogers Place.

Kash Andresen scored for the Warriors (4-3-1-0), who were outshot 45-17 and were 0-for-4 on the power play.

Goaltender Parker Snell stopped 16 of 17 shots for the Oil Kings, who were 0-for-5 on the power play.

Kyle Jones stopped 41 of 45 shots for the Warriors.
