A shorthanded Orlando City had its hands full against the high-flying Vancouver Whitecaps, ultimately falling 2-1 at home on Saturday night to the Canadian side.
“Frustrating. I can say I felt like we were defending for a very long time. That’s something I mean to look at,” Lions defender Dagur Dan Thorhallsson said. “I don’t know why we scored, and we just dropped down and defended for almost the rest of the game. We counterattacked, yeah, but we need to keep the ball a little bit more, especially against these quality teams with quality players.”
Orlando City took the lead in the first half, but a late mistake allowed Vancouver to get back into the match before a last-minute winner for the Whitecaps sealed the deal.
