Orchard Lake St. Mary’s was undeterred by playing from behind in most of its first home game of the year and rallied by scoring 26 unanswered to beat Toledo Catholic Central 36-21 on Friday.

The Eaglets would have gone into the half down 14-3 if not for a 37-yard TD pass by Chad Willis to DJ Taylor in the final 15 seconds. Toledo CC (4-3, 3-2 CHSL Central) scored first in the second half before OLSM quarterback Jabin Gonzales had a crafty 34-yard scramble into the end zone that kickstarted the comeback.

Camari Patterson scored on a pitch from 10 yards out to put St. Mary’s ahead several minutes later and a 60-yard screen pass by Gonzales to junior Brandon Adams helped the Eaglets pull away early in the fourth.
