The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the updated NEET UG seat matrix for the 2025–26 academic year. As of October 10, India has a total of 1,26,600 MBBS seats . This figure includes both the renewal of existing seats and newly approved ones.
For 2025–26, the NMC approved 9,075 new MBBS seats across the country, excluding AIIMS and JIPMER. Throughout the year, the seat matrix has been revised several times due to changes in the approval status of seats in different medical colleges. Candidates are advised to review the updated matrix carefully and follow the revised schedule.
NEET UG 2025: Changes in state-wise seat allocation
In Andhra Pradesh, Santhiram Medical College in Nandyal increased its intake from 150 to 250 MBBS seats. Anna Gowri Medical College and Hospita
