SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Utes football team made a statement with a 42-10 win over the No. 21 Arizona State Sun Devils at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday.

What shone brightest in the win? The Utes’ rushing. They ran for 276 yards, which made up over 65 percent of their total offense.

Quarterback Devon Dampier had three rushing touchdowns. It was his first three-score game as a Ute and the fifth in his college career. NaQuari Rogers had two touchdowns on the ground, and Byrd Ficklin had the last.

Utah improved to 5-1 with the win and will now prepare for a trip to Provo in week eight.
