Communications Minister Anika Wells will tell the social media platforms directly this week that they must be proactive in enforcing the looming under 16s social media ban.

Minister Wells has revealed she will meet representatives from Meta, Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok this week.

A meeting with X (formerly known as Twitter) is scheduled for November.

There’s less than two months until the Albanese government’s social media age restrictions will take effect in Australia.
