ANIMAL CRUELTY

The matter of animal mistreatment is understandably a highly emotive issue for many people in the community (″⁣ Starving and dead horses at ex-trainer’s ‘farm of horrors’ expose state’s broken cruelty laws ″⁣, 12/10).

The Facebook group ‘Peaceful Protest Mt Eliza Horses’ was set up to express this group’s concerns about the welfare of horses, goats and dogs at a property in Mount Eliza.

In some cases, groups of concerned animal lovers act in a way that they feel compelled to do due to the often glacial pace of authorities to step in and act quickly.
