The multimillion-dollar makeover of Maniana Park in Queens Park is complete, with the fences coming down last Wednesday night and locals immediately taking to the new play and sporting facilities.
The park had been closed to the public since the beginning of the year as two new football pitches and cricket nets, a bicycle pump track, half basketball court and district level adventure playground were built.
It also includes new accessible toilets, although the City of Canning announced they hit a “little snag” with new barbecue facilities.
“The BBQs at Maniana Park won’t all be operational when the park officially opens,” they posted on social media.
“The good news? We’ll have one plate on each BBQ ready to fire up by tomorrow or Friday, which means four working BBQs will be available
