New Delhi: BMW Group India came up with its highest-ever car sales in 2024, selling 15,721 cars, including 15,012 BMWs and 709 Minis. This can be considered as growth over 2023, when the company sold 14,172 cars in total. The strong performance has continued in 2025, with sales between January and September reaching 11,978 units, marking a 13% growth compared to the same period last year.
Out of these 11,978 units, 11,510 were BMWs and 468 were Minis. Before the implementation of GST 2.0 reform, luxury petrol and diesel cars were taxed at nearly 48 to 50%, combining 28% GST with an additional cess of 20 to 22% based on engine size and body type. The revised GST system has lowered this overall cost, making cars more affordable than before in the premium segment.
