When Juan Namnun discovered a lump on his chest in June 2022, he dismissed it.

Namnun, an active father of three from Delran, thought maybe he just pulled a muscle or bumped into something. The 47-year-old thought nothing of it until the next month when his wife, Lena, lovingly placed her hand on his chest to lean in for kiss and, in the process, felt a lump.

“How long have you had it?” she asked.

“I think that’s what really, really got her upset, was when I said ‘Oh, probably almost six weeks,’” recalls Namnun.

Within the hour, he was on the phone with his primary care physician making an appointment for the following morning. The next day, his doctor ordered a series of tests that nearly knocked Namnun off his feet: a mammogram, a breast ultrasound, and a biopsy.
