Why Mariners' World Series history makes them worth rooting for in ALCS vs. Blue Jays

The Seattle Mariners aren't like the others.

It's not a super high bar to clear, but of the four teams in the ALCS, the Mariners are the only ones yet to get past it.

The bar: Making it to the World Series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been there a ton, of course, with victories. The Toronto Blue Jays are champions, too.

The Milwaukee Brewers at least got to the World Series once, in 1982, although that was back in their American League days, and they lost.

The Mariners have never been to the World Series.

Before this season, they hadn't even played in the ALCS since 2001. That year, their 116-win team from the regular season couldn't topple the mighty New York Yank
