Chaos broke out at Bardhaman railway station on Sunday evening after a sudden rush of passengers trying to board multiple trains led to a stampede.

At least seven passengers were injured in the incident, which took place on the staircase connecting platforms 4 and 5.

According to eyewitnesses, around the evening, three trains were stationed simultaneously on platforms 4, 6, and 7.

As passengers hurried to catch their respective trains, the narrow staircase became overcrowded, leading to panic and pushing. Several passengers fell, triggering a brief stampede.

All injured individuals were rushed to Bardhaman Medical College Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
