The revered Arulmigu Ekambaranathar Temple, one of Tamil Nadu's oldest temples, will hold its long-awaited consecration ceremony on December 8, marking the occasion after a 17-year gap, a temple official confirmed on October 12. The temple located in Kanchipuram, which dates to over 1,300 years, is under the management of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the state government.
The announcement was made by Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, PK Sekar Babu. According to the Executive Officer of the Department Muthulakshmi P, the consecration ceremonies are traditionally held every 12 years.
