Following the passing of acting icon Diane Keaton, actresses Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn took to social media to pay tribute to their late The First Wives Club co-star.

In her latest Instagram post, Midler called Keaton brilliant, beautiful, and extraordinary.

“I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me,” the actress wrote. “She was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star.”

Midler went on to add, “What you saw was who she was… oh, la, lala!”

Hawn, who co-starred with Keaton in The First Wives Club and Town & Country, wrote that the world is not ready to lose the late actress.
