Saturday morning, local officials gathered at the International Towing Museum to recognize and honor the sacrifice and legacy of tow truck operators across the country who have lost their lives while responding to roadway incidents.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was among the agencies that attended the event. Sheriff Austin Garrett said he was honored to deliver remarks:

"It has been said, those who serve in public safety are the quiet guardians of our society, often seen only in moments of crisis. Today we have the solemn privilege to remember and reflect upon the lives and service of a unique and trusted group of public safety guardians, our local tow truck operators."
