Kris Letang missed Sunday’s practice due to a lower-body injury, and the Penguins defenseman has been labeled day to day as the team heads out west to California.

Letang was injured in Saturday’s loss to the New York Rangers at PPG Paints Arena. He played one shift in the third period before exiting the game. He did not return.

If Letang were to miss Tuesday’s road game against the Anaheim Ducks, either Matt Dumba or Connor Clifton would replace the former All-Star in the Penguins lineup. Both are veteran right-shot defenders who were acquired via trade this offseason.

Letang, 38, has not tallied a point in three games this season. He has a plus-3 rating.
