A night after the Portland Winterhawks scored nine goals in a 9-4 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes, they get shut out by the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-0.

Riley Steen scored for the Tigers 29 seconds into the game and that set the tone. Medicine Hat’s top players overwhelmingly outplayed Portland’s veterans.

Carter Casey stopped all 31 Portland shots for his first Western Hockey League shutout in only his 3rd game and 2nd start.

Portland goes to 1-1 on their trip through the Alberta teams.
