EUGENE - Oregon coach Dan Lanning took Saturday’s disappointing 30-20 loss to No. 7 Indiana at Autzen Stadium squarely on the chin.

“I don’t think anybody in the organization did the best that they’re capable of today, myself included,” Lanning said. “Starts with me.”

The No. 3 Ducks, two weeks after pulling out what appeared to be a monumental win at Penn State in double overtime, couldn’t find the same resolve to eke out a win against the determined and well-prepared Hoosiers.

Just as Oregon (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) overcame a White Out game at the Nittany Lions, Indiana (6-0, 3-0) didn’t allow the Autzen Stadium crowd to throw them off and went toe-to-toe with, on paper, a more talented team.

“No excuses from us, they deserve credit in this win,” Lanning said.
