MISSOULA — The Montana football team partied like it was both 1995 and 2009 at homecoming Saturday afternoon in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
The more noticeable throwback was the return of the copper and gold uniform colors as part of the 30-year celebration for the first national championship team. Those Grizzlies won the title even after two losses early in the season.
These Grizzlies are still undefeated after they rallied from a 9-0 halftime deficit for a 28-9 win over an upstart Cal Poly team. In doing so, they became the first Montana squad in 16 years to start the season with a 6-0 overall record.
"Finding different ways to win is maybe a hallmark of what this program is built on," Montana head coach Bobby Hauck said. "We did that again today."
