Former Michigan State Spartan and current Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan (Nate) Carter is the third guest on Detroit Faith City, a Detroit News podcast that features local athletes, entertainers and public figures talking about their faith along with their spiritual mentors.

Carter, a 23-year-old native of Rochester, N.Y., has written a book, "If I'm Not On Your Side: Legacy of Faith and Wisdom for the Next Generation" — a collection of personal stories, reflections and life lessons, highlighting his faith and wisdom gained by walking with God.

At Michigan State, the 5-foot-10, 202-pound Carter rushed for 1,297 yards and nine touchdowns on 301 carries (4.3 yards per carry) during two seasons under head coaches Mel Tucker and Jonathan Smith.
