Title: Vancouver Police Seek Suspect in Stabbing Incidents

The Vancouver Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in a series of random attacks that occurred in Yaletown on Friday morning. The incidents, which took place around 7:30 a.m. on October 10, left four people stabbed and others assaulted.

VPD spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "These assaults were violent and unprovoked, and as long as this suspect remains at large, we fear the community is at risk."

Police responded to reports of stabbings near the seawall close to David Lam Park. Initially, three victims were found and transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Since then, four additional victims have come forward. This includes another stabbing victim, a person who was physically assaulted, and two individuals who were verbally abused but not physically harmed. The victims range in age from 23 to 59 and include five men and two women.

Addison noted, "There may be additional victims we don’t know about, or witnesses who have important information that could help solve this case. We’re asking anyone with information to call our investigators."

The suspect is described as a woman in her 20s or 30s, with long dark hair styled in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing an oversized black leather jacket, black pants, and possibly a leopard-print shirt or scarf. Authorities reported that she was last seen walking east on Marinaside Crescent, between the Cambie Bridge and David Lam Park.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has relevant information is urged to contact the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541. The police are prioritizing the identification and apprehension of the suspect to ensure community safety.
