Helena Moreno won the New Orleans mayoral election on Saturday night and she spent Sunday afternoon rooting for a Saints' win over the New England Patriots .

The mayor-elect was shown on the Caesars Superdome jumbotron in a suite with team owner Gayle Benson.

Moreno's appearance was the latest of a productive first 12 hours since being elected the city's next mayor. She also stopped by Our Lady of Guadalupe on Sunday morning for mass.

Moreno is currently the New Orleans City Council President.

With the victory, she is set to become New Orleans' second female mayor and the city's first Hispanic mayor in January.
