New England’s banged-up cornerback room took a pair of hits in the third quarter against the Saints.
First, veteran Carlton Davis appeared to suffer a lower-body injury and went into the blue medical tent. He was replaced by Charles Woods. Then later on the drive, Marcus Jones was injured attempting to break up a pass to Chris Olave.
Both Woods (knee) and Christian Gonzalez (hamstring) had been managing injuries too, as the tandem was limited in practice this week and given the questionable designation for the game. New England’s secondary was also without starting safety Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring).
At the time of the injuries, New England was leading the Saints, 25-16.
