BRATTLEBORO — An Israeli hostage, whose capture was discussed in a local talk, is expected to be released as part of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

Bar Kupershtein, 23, the subject of a discussion held at the American Legion in Brattleboro in June, is one of the hostages still believed to be alive. He was working as a guard at the Nova Music Festival in October 2023 at the time of the attacks. He "stayed behind during the attack to help treat casualties," according to a BBC profile of the 48 hostages in Gaza.
