RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- Two lanes are closed on Interstate 440 in Raleigh on Sunday afternoon after a car flipped during a crash near Six Forks Road and Wake Forest Road, officials said.
The crash involving one car -- police initially said two cars -- was reported around 3 p.m. along eastbound I-440 at mile marker 8 near Six Forks Road and approaching Wake Forest Road, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
One car flipped during the crash. After the wreck, a damaged car was visible in a ditch just off the highway.
The right lanes and shoulder are closed near exit 8, which is Six Forks Road, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Raleigh police.
Raleigh officers were investigating the crash.
