Breaking update: MCEWEN, Tenn. (WSMV) - Gov. Bill Lee said Sunday that it could take months for federal authorities to determine and disclose the cause of the blast at a Tennessee facility that took the lives of 16 people.

“This is an enormous site that will have to be fully investigated,” Lee said during a Sunday afternoon press conference.

The National Response Team for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) arrived Saturday at Accurate Energetic Systems, but authorities said Sunday that their work has just begun.

“The ATF will work for months if it takes... as long as it takes, that’s how long it will take,” the governor said. “There’s still a live scene, they’re still investigating explosives on the site that may need to be detonated.”
