There were times in Kayshon Boutte’s career when just being on the field on Sunday as NFL player in his home state would have been a triumph.
So delivering a two-touchdown effort that was essential to the Patriots ’ 25-19 win in front of a huge contingent of friends and family in his home state was about as perfect a homecoming he could have hoped for.
“It was amazing coming back home. First time playing in the Superdome. It was a little emotional at first,” he said. “It felt like a full-circle moment. First time I’ve been back playing here. Everything was cool.”
The 23-year-old from New Iberia, Louisiana last played at the Superdome as junior for LSU and there were points when getting there as an NFL player seemed far-fetched.
Injuries and off-the-field issues clouded his final
